Red Party is the largest student-run charity in Western Australia. Each year we engage over 2000 people in HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns and raise over $30,000 to support people in Sub-Saharan Africa living with these conditions. Since 2007, Perth Red Party has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for communities affected by HIV/AIDS through Oxfam Australia’s program Securing Rights in the Context of HIV/AIDS in Southern Africa. In addition to raising funds, the Red Party team has been committed to raising awareness and reducing stigma related to HIV/AIDS in the local Perth community.

Our signature event Red Party engages hundreds of students across all Perth universities every year. Thousands of dollars are raised from this event for Oxfam to promote HIV/AIDS awareness and prophylaxis. This year, Red Party is being held at The Court.

Our principal advocacy event, Red Aware Week, takes place in late August and involves the Perth community in raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. One of the most powerful elements of this campaign is Paint the Town Red, with prominent Perth landmarks lighting up in red as a visible symbol of the community’s ongoing support for this issue.
